Validate is Weave’s first product: a workspace for AI-assisted research and knowledge work that keeps a clear record of how conclusions were reached.
The problem
AI has changed the economics of knowledge work. Producing material is no longer the hard part. The hard part is everything around it: keeping track of sources, managing context, knowing what to trust, recording how a decision was reached, and holding a line of reasoning together across many separate AI conversations, notes, and drafts.
A single piece of serious work might now draw on several AI chats, a pile of sources, scattered notes, and a run of drafts. Useful material is generated quickly, but it is hard to structure, verify, or defend afterwards. For researchers, students, consultants, analysts, and anyone whose work has to stand up to scrutiny, this is a real and growing problem - and detection tools, bans, and a return to closed-book exams do not solve it. They try to keep AI out. The more useful answer is to make the work of thinking visible.
What Validate does
Validate is a place to turn that fragmented material into a structured, traceable piece of work. It holds not only your outputs but the reasoning behind them: the sources you drew on, the claims you made, the AI contributions you accepted or rejected, and the decisions you took, connected together in a structure you can navigate and review.
AI in Validate is a proposal, not an authority. It can suggest connections, surface assumptions, offer counterarguments, and draft text - but nothing becomes part of your validated work until you accept it. Everything carries its provenance: where it came from, who made it, what changed, and whether a person has checked it. The result is work whose development is visible and defensible, rather than a black box that produced an answer.
Who it is for
Validate is for people whose process matters as much as their output: researchers and analysts managing evidence and synthesis, students and universities looking for evidence of genuine learning rather than crude AI detection, consultants and bid writers tracking the basis for their claims, and anyone working where reasoning has to be accountable.
Your reasoning is not our raw material
A system that records how you think holds sensitive material. So Validate is built inside the same mission-locked structure as Weave itself, with concrete commitments: no advertising, no surveillance, no selling of your data, and no training on your private work without your explicit consent. There is no lock-in. You can export everything you make, in readable form, and leave without losing it.
Validate is the first product built on Weave’s infrastructure - the same foundations of provenance, rights, and federation that the wider project rests on.
